Casper Bartholin the Younger, 1655 - 1739. (Bartholin's Gland)
Bartholin glands, also known as the greater vestibular glands are two tiny glands, inconspicuously nestled within the female reproductive system, parallel to the just as tiny bulbourethral glands in males. These oval-shaped, tubuloalveolar marvels reside stealthily within the vestibulum vaginae, strategically positioned in the lower third of the labias majora near the vaginal opening. Measuring a mere 1.5-2.0 cm in length, they wield the power of female sexual arousal by secreting a mucous lubricant, making them the unrecognised heroes of intimacy.
